I had lunch last Thursday in Gibson with Weaver, Long, and Dick Turner. Steve Drake (Billy's dad) popped in also.  Lots of fun and just a little race talk.  Thanks to Dick for picking up all the checks.

  Great job 7tracks!
Maybe I missed something but who are the top 3 feature winners in the mods? Seems like your list starts with Mahring and that's a blast from the past in the Hardee's car.

This is incredible. Is there any way you could list the names at the bottom of the wins lists at some point in the future? It would be cool to see some of the drivers that only have a handful of wins over the years. Regardless, this is awesome and thank you.

Great Job.  If you don't mind, I think Korey could probably split this up some (when he has time) and put it in an archive section.  Would be cool to have on the main forum page.

Glad to see someone giving credit to Spud Schlipf for the huge amount of work he put in on this track up and running and keeping it that way for so many years.I remember watching Spud check on the track every week especially after they started putting concrete around the outside of the track. Every time somone would hit the wall, he would be out there inspecting it to make sure the wall wasn't damaged. It was through Spud's USAC connections that we had the privilege of seeing some of the Indy great run here in the early days when the track ran on Wednesday nights instead of Saturday. They rand Wednesday to make it more likely for the Indy cars to be able to come here and still fulfill their USAC weekend committments.

This is awesome info brings back memories.  Now have a big question for ya.  Does anyone know where or how or who to find any info about racing in Fairbury in the 50s I have a picture of my Grandpa from 1951 and all I have is Fairbury 1951 both my grandpa and grandma are gone so don't have much info to go on dad doesn't know much about Grandpas racing time would be interesting to be able to find out about it. He did win something I believe at the race because the photo I have is with him in the car with checkered flag. Thanks
