FALS Cup Weekly Championship Returns for Fourth Season

fals cupComing off one of the most successful seasons to date, Fairbury Speedway is set to open their doors on Saturday night, May 7th to start the FALS Cup weekly championship presented by Fairbury Fastener & Spyder Pro Powered Tools. Racing in all five weekly divisions will take to the racy quarter-mile bullring and will be streamed live on FloRacing. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to showcase our opening night FALS Cup race on FloRacing. This will give a lot of exposure to all of our classes and let the fan base throughout the country see what we are accustomed to on our weekly shows,” says Fairbury Speedway owner and promoter Matt Curl. “Our FALS Cup weekly race program is growing every year and this year is no different. We have all of our FALS Cup dates sponsored and look forward to a great partnership with them.”

Back for its fourth season, the FALS Cup weekly championship will take center stage for what is arguably one the best weekly race programs in the country. The special series will continue to feature unprecedented payouts at all weekly shows for both DIRTcar Late Models ($2,500 to win and $300 to start from a total purse of over $10,000) and DIRTcar Modifieds ($1,500 to win and $175 to start from a purse exceeding $6,000).

Overall, more than $22,000 in purses will be distributed at Fairbury’s weekly shows, which will also include the DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Stock Cars, and Hobby Mods in 2022. And despite the incredible payouts, general admission and pit gate prices will remain the same at $10 and $30, respectively, during the upcoming season that kicks off on May 7th.

Added to the FALS schedule will be two practice dates. A special Thursday night, April 28th practice from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and the traditional Saturday, April 30th practice from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. All driver haulers and fans traffic will need to enter through Gate 1 (southwest gate by the school) and not the usual Third Street gate (under construction). There will be no pit passes sold for either practice session. The cost for practice will be $75.00 per car payable at the pit shack before your car hits the track.

After a week to shake the dust off, FALS will open up its season of special events on Saturday, May 14th with the FALS Spring Shootout, presented by Titan Industries. This shootout will feature the MARS Late Model Series paying an incredible $30,000 to win, accompanied by the DIRTcar Modifieds paying $3,000 to win. A big weekend, indeed, in central Illinois with the FloRacing Speedweeks racing at Spoon River, Lincoln, and Farmer City. Championship night for the four-race miniseries will conclude Saturday night at FALS paying $10,000 to the points champion.

Back in 2022 for the final time, capping off an incredible 10-year run, the Alkota “Keep it Clean” Series, presented by Rural Route Repair and M&M Pumps, will again give away a hot water pressure washer valued at over $6,500. This unique series is structured to include all four DIRTcar weekly classes. Each driver will contend in a points battle throughout the season on non-special events marked on the schedule. Drivers accumulate points for passing cars in the feature as well as their feature finishing position. The Alkota “Keep it Clean” Series is scheduled for 10 nights throughout the summer.
